Description:
This dataset provides GPS-derived speed and volume data for buses and coaches across Great Britain, derived from observations from over 40k vehicles map-matched to OS MasterMap Highways road links. Data cover the month of April 2024. Unlike timetable-based data, speeds are derived from observed GPS traces and reflect actual operating conditions including dwell time at stops, traffic signal delay, and network congestion. Each record represents a unique road link identified by TOID, with mean speed, 25th, 50th, 75th and 85th percentile speeds, trip count, and total observation count, aggregated across all time periods. Records with fewer than 10 observations are excluded. Road link geometries are available from Ordnance Survey products such as OS MasterMap Highways, accessible via services including Edina Digimap.
